	In 1901 the new Hospital of St. John & St. Elizabeth was opened by the Lord Mayor of London in St. John's Wood, the Hospital retaining at its heart the beautiful domed church of St.John which had been moved brick by brick. Today John & Lizzie's as it is affectionately known, is a successful private hospital which uses its profits to support its principal charity St. John's Hospice, which provides free palliative care for people living in the local community. This hospital is the third largest independent hospital in the United Kingdom and provides a full range of specialist services and is well known for it's Shoulder Unit.

How To Get There This hospital is located less than 200 yards from St John's Wood underground station. Hospital could also easily be reached by bus. Routes 13, 46, 82, 113, 139 stop within short vicinity of the hospital. There is a limited car parking facility available within hospital premises at the Grove End road entrance. There is a pay and display car park at the front of the Hospital. Charges are: Up to 2 hours £3.00 1 to 2 hours £5.00 2 to 4 hours £8.00 4 to 8 hours £12.00 Up to 24 hours £20.00 The ticket machine takes 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p and £1 coins. Please be aware that spaces are limited and parking cannot be guaranteed If the car park is full, there are parking meters in local streets, costing £1 per hour; maximum stay is two hours.
